Dear École Royal Bay Community,
Welcome to another exciting year at École Royal Bay Secondary! As we step into this September together, I want to extend a warm welcome to all our students, families, and caregivers —both returning and new. Our school continues to thrive because of the vibrant, diverse, and dedicated community that surrounds it. Our school was built in 2015 on the traditional territories of the Esquimalt Nation and Songhees Nation; and we are honoured to work closely with Beecher Bay, Sc’ianew Nation, T’Sou-ke Nation, and Nuu-chah-nulth Pacheedaht Nation, and Métis and Inuit communities. We recognize the territories and nations and thank them for sharing this beautiful land.
At Royal Bay, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every student can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Our staff works hard to ensure that each learner is connected, supported and challenged. Whether through academics, athletics, the arts, or leadership opportunities, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who are ready to make a positive impact in the world.
To our students: I encourage you to be curious, courageous, and kind. Take advantage of the many opportunities available to you, and don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Your voice matters, and your journey here is uniquely yours.
To our families and caregivers: Thank you for your continued partnership and trust. Your involvement is vital to our collective success, and we look forward to working closely with you throughout the year.
Let’s make this year one of growth, connection, and celebration. Together, we will continue to make École Royal Bay a place where everyone belongs and thrives.
Thank you,
Melissa Horner (she/her)
Principal, École Royal Bay Secondary School
